Finished Juniper bass
  1. The juniper wood must be over 500-years-old
  2. No book-matching on the front and back of the body
  3. Black hardware
  4. Passive pickups
  5. Neck-through construction
  6. Simple body design
Rocky Mountain juniper wood was collected in the Beartooth Mountains, MT using a U.S. Forest Service permit. Approximately 1,000 trees were inspected before finding the deadwood snag shown below. A 120 lb. trunk section was cut and hauled three miles. This wood was used for the front and back of the guitar body. Additional juniper wood was found for use in the neck and headstock. The precise calendar year of each growth ring in this wood was determined by the owner, a dendrochronologist.
